A one-day workshop on IV Semester UG English syllabus (N.E.P scheme) was held under the aegis of the Association of English Teachers, Mangalore University (AET), Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Department of English, Padua College of Commerce and Management, Nanthur, Mangalore.
Prof. Parinitha, Chairperson, BOS in English, Mangalore University in her keynote address congratulated all English teachers for their creative role in making their respective classrooms interactive and meaningful. She said the NEP provides an opportunity for teachers to learn from students as students are largely tech savvy. Therefore, she asked the teachers to focus new modes of communication to make language classes as spaces for critical thinking.
Mr. Vinod D'Souza, Vice-president, Bendur PPP, Associate professor, AJIET, Mangalore inaugurated the workshop and opined that National Education Policy equips students with the desired knowledge and skill required for contemporary modern times.
Rev. Fr. Arun Wilson Lobo, Principal, Padua College of Commerce and Management in his presidential address asked the teachers to inspire young minds to keep greater goals in life and achieve them through hard work.
Three technical sessions were held with subject experts orienting on different aspects of the syllabus. Prof. Nivedita Dias and Mr Sathish Nayak were the resource persons. Dr Padmaja V. Shetty, vice-president of AET welcomed, Dr Victor Vaz E., President, AET proposed vote of thanks, Mrs Mobin Taj compeered and Mrs Reshma Reshal D’Souza was the convenor of the workshop.
