The YRC Annual Special Camp 2024 was held at St Thomas Higher primary school, Alangar, Moodabidri.
The camp began on 15th November 2024 with the inauguration program graced by Rev Fr Arun Wilson Lobo, Principal of Padua College as the President of the program, Rev Fr Melwyn Norona, the parish priest of Holy Rosary church Alangar, as the inaugurator. The chief guest for the program was Dr Gayatri N,YRC nodal officer, Mangalore University. The guests of honour included Mr P.K
Thomas, member of the Municipal corporation, Mrs Alphonsa, Headmistress of St Thomas school, Sr Sunitha, Superior, Good Sheperd convent, Alangar, Mr Edward Serrao, Vice president, PPP, Alangar, Mr Lawrence Anil D'Cunha, secretary PPP, Alangar.
The camp aimed to promote social service, community welfare, leadership skills, and personal development among participants. The camp served as a platform to engage in various activities related to first aid, visit to Mount Rosary hospital, service at Mount Rosary ashram, disaster management, team building and environmental sustainability. Additionally, it focused on fostering teamwork and cooperation among young volunteers.
The camp was held for three days which served to be quite fruitful and deserving.
The camp was attended by 44 YRC volunteers, YRC program officer Prof Roshan Santhumayor, YRC Assistant Program officer Mrs Zeena Cornelio and Mrs Reshma D'Souza, Dpt of Languages attended the camp and filled joy amongst the students and instilled in them the voice of service of humanity.
The camp concluded on 18th November 2024 with Mr Santhosh Dsouza, as the Chief guest for the Valedictory program. The camp not only helped volunteers develop valuable skills but also instilled a sense of social responsibility and service
