Padua College of Commerce & Management locally managed by the St Sebastian Church, Bendore and administered by the Catholic Board of Education has carved name for itself within a short period of seven years of it inception not only in the city but also in the suburban and rural areas of undivided Dakshina Kannada district. It imparts quality education at an affordable cost especially to the lower middle class students. The motto of our institution is, ‘Success through hard work’ has been proved true in our mission of educating, enlightening and empowering the lower strata of the society. The Padua High School which was started in 1944 has grown into a mighty institution which has more than 2200 students and 87 staff members on roll with the facilities to learn from Kindergarten to Under –Graduation in the Padua Campus.
As we step into the ninth year of educational service what encourages us most is the motto of our college: Success through hard work. We have realized that success comes to those who work hard and stays with those who do not boast on the achievements of the past.
The college also has realized that the Information Technology has brought about drastic changes in Educational Scenario today. Teaching is becoming more and more challenging as the educators have to equip themselves with modern technology to remain relevant to the modern youngsters. We also have to be constantly learning to meet to the demands of all the stakeholders of education. The young, equipped, continually learning teaching faculty of Padua college, because of their training in knowledge skills and attitudes are able to implement the curricular and extra-curricular activities in forming the students not only as better citizens of this country but also good human beings prepared to face the challenges of life.
Education is not mere transmission of information. If so there is an abundance of education available on Internet. Education is formation of the heart and soul. Education is making students to think and not making them what to think. Education is making students reflective moral beings who are able to determine what is right and be committed for that right.
At Padua we proudly say that we have helped our students to develop into sensitive and responsible human beings. To accomplish this we have supportive management, dedicated staff, cooperative parents, and willing to learn students.
As the college comes up with its annual magazine, “Prathidwani” I am glad to appreciate the commendable efforts put forth by the Editorial Team for its hard work. I appreciate innovative content, novel ideas and creative talents displayed by the staff and students in this magazine. I wish all the students who have been involved in bringing out the magazine a great success and contentment. I believe this responsibility has educated them.
